Theatre Design Institute: Vectorworks

The Theatre Design Institute is an outreach program of ÄÛ²ÝÊÓÆµ Fox University that equips secondary educators in the areas of design and technical theatre, inspires them to turn their production ideas into reality, and helps them build stronger arts education programs.

Theatre Design Institute: QLab
July 14-17, 2025
9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

The Theatre Design Institute is an outreach program of ÄÛ²ÝÊÓÆµ Fox University that equips secondary educators in the areas of design and technical theatre, inspires them to turn their production ideas into reality, and helps them build stronger arts education programs.

Orton-Gillingham Institute: O-G Classroom Educator (2 credits)
June 16-20, 2025

This professional development for in-service teachers includes in-person sessions in the Stevens Center classroom on the Newberg Campus is part of the dyslexia requirements. As a result of providing instructional methods and strategies, this professional development is on ODE's approved list of training opportunities under the vendor name, Oregon Dyslexia Institute (ODI). This ongoing COE graduate professional development, in partnership with Orton-Gillingham and ODE, meets the new Oregon Instructional Framework for Early Literacy. Graduate transcription for credit is available at $100 per credit.

Summer Festival of Learning (Invited Participants)
July 7-9, 2024

How a private school board plans for development, and how its members communicate with the head of school are keys to building and sustaining capacity of Christian schools - a purpose of our CSEC grant is to keep the focus on each school’s mission aligned to quality instruction with fruitful leadership. Board Development and Communication is the focus in Year 3 of the Murdock grant and the Ward Foundation gift for board and leadership development.  Simon Jeynes, the executive director of , will be our speaker for this two-day conference for Board Chairs and Heads of Schools in the Christian School Educator Coalition.

Theatre Design Institute Topic 1: Scenic Construction Challenges
July 8-11, 2024

Geared toward high school teachers and staff, these hands-on interactive courses in design and technical theatre are offered each summer and provide professional development opportunities for educators. Topics for these week-long courses change each summer and include scenery, painting, lighting and sound.
