Prerequisite Courses

Required prerequisite coursework for the occupational therapy doctorate program
Human Anatomy and Physiology (with or without lab): 2 courses
Social sciences (e.g., general psychology, developmental psychology, sociology, anthropology, abnormal psychology): 2 courses
Statistics: 1 course
Medical Terminology (may be taken after admission during first semester/online): 1 course

All courses must be completed with a grade of C or better and must be completed by the spring term prior to starting the program in the fall.

Observation hours are not required for admission into the program.

International graduates can apply: All coursework taken from non-U.S. institutions (foreign countries, including Canada) must be submitted to (N.Y.) or (ECE) for evaluation. WES evaluations can be submitted directly to OTCAS.

It is recommended that your prerequisites be no more than seven years old, especially anatomy and physiology. Prerequisite substitutions can be considered with the approval of the program director.
